President Bob Fankhauser called the March 6, 2022 meeting to order.

The minutes from the February 6, 2022 meeting were approved as read by Carolyn Clement.

Treasurer’s report was read by Nancy Beisler.  A motion was made by Dave Noaker and 2nd by Marty Van Horn to accept the treasurers report, subject to audit.  Motion carried.

President Report:

Vietnam War Veterans Day Ceremony Sunday, March 27th from 1:00-3:00 at Washington High School,

1 Paul Brown Drive S.E., Massillon.  Members will leave the VFW, in dress code, at 12:00.  Veterans need to register at dvstilianos@starkcountyohio.gov .  There’s also a link on our website.

Guest Speaker:  Sara Chambers spoke about the many changes regarding veteran benefits.  Please call her work phone at the VSC at 330-451-7459 with questions or concerns.  She also informed us that the VA hospital will be opening back up so we will be able to resume our visits.

Patches: Congratulations to JoAnn Suladie on receiving her boot patch.

Reverse Raffle:  Darlene is still in need of volunteers to work at the raffle and also to donate baskets.

Gun Bash : Harold Fields.  The gun bash tickets are uploaded to our website.  Please get money and stubs to Harold asap.

Scholarship Endowment:  Janet White informed us that our balance is $72,788.84 and two new scholarships have been awarded in the amount of $1012.00 each.

50/50:  Won by Pat McPherson.  $12.50 will be deposited to events and $12.50 to the General Fund.

Our next meeting Is April 10th

The Memorial Day Freedom Ride from Cincinnati to Northfield will take place on Sunday, May 29th.

On Saturday, May 28th Queen City Harley Davidson in Fairfield will have food and bands.  Anyone wanting to spend the night may call the Holiday Inn Express at 513-860-2900.  Be sure to mention RTO in order to get the rate of $151.00, which includes taxes.

Friday, July 1st our honor guard has been invited to perform at the opening ceremony at Abate in Carrollton.

Run to the Wall, Saturday, July 16th from 9:00am until 5:00pm will leave out of the Kent American Legion.

There being no further business to come before the chapter, a motion was made by Pat McPherson and 2nd by Sara Chambers to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.
