General Membership Meeting

President Bob Fankhauser called the June 5, 2022 meeting to order.

The minutes from the May 1, 2022 meeting were approved as read by Carolyn Clement.

Treasurer’s report was read by Nancy Beisler.  A motion was made by Dave Noaker and 2nd by Judi Willgues to accept the treasurers report, subject to audit.  Motion carried.    

President Report:

Sam Center Freedom Ride June 11th. Leave VFW at 9:00am.

Kent American Legion Run to the Wall July 16.  Leave VFW at 8:30am. Dress Code

OVMP Korean War Dedication July 23.  Leave VFW at 11:30am. Dress Code

A motion was made by Dave Noaker and 2nd by Paulette Pinczes that we donate $250.00 to the Keith Nepsa Memorial ride in August.  Motion carried.

Vice-President Report:  Jim Smith.  We received thank you’s from our scholarship recipient, Jason Marsonic and The Greater Cleveland Fisher House.

Gun Bash: Harold Fields reported that we received $6085.00 from ticket sales, which brings our total so far to $29,675.00.  Breakdown of tickets sold: Main 411/600, Green 324/500, and Tan 383/500.

Events: Sandy Wilfong is looking for monetary donations and gift baskets for our All-Wheels Ride for Veterans Scavenger Hunt July 9th.  See the website for details.

Elections (form committee at June meeting).  Dave Noaker has agreed to head the election committee.

The following positions are open for election: V.P. Jim Smith, C.O.B. Jerry Oppie, Treasurer Nancy Beisler, and Three Board Members Gerry Beisler, Harold Fields, and Erik Szerokman.

A motion was made by Paulette Pinczes and 2nd by Judi Willgues to donate $250.00 to the National Federation of the Blind.  Motion carried.

A motion was made by Dave Noaker and 2nd by JoAnn Suladi to purchase 10 POW/MIA flags at a cost of $181.40.  Motion carried.

A motion was made by Erik Szerokman and 2nd by Pat McPherson to advance $500 seed money for the All-Wheels for Veterans Scavenger Hunt July 9th.  Motion carried.

MAPS Summer Pancake Breakfast Sunday, July 10th 2022 at 8:00am-1:00pm.

Our next two meetings on July 10th and August 7th will be nominations of officers and board members.

There being no further business to come before the chapter, a motion was made by Pat McPherson and 2nd by Merry Ingraldi to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried.
