President Bob Fankhauser called the October 1, 2023 meeting to order.
The minutes from the September 10, 2023 meeting were approved as read by Carolyn Clement.
Treasurer’s report was read by Nancy Beisler. A motion was made by Pat McPherson and 2nd by JoAnn Suladi to accept the report, subject to audit. Motion carried.
President Report: Bob
A discussion was had regarding non veteran donations. The total amount allowed per incident is $300 with a maximum of $1500 per year. So far this year we have donated $1350.

Gun Bash: Kevin Ivey. Be at the fairgrounds at 8:00am Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th. Trailer will be loaded on Saturday, October 7th at 10:00am at RAK self Storage located at 2472 Canton Rd, Akron 44312.

Quarter Master: Tim Hess. Anyone who purchased an in-memoriam patch for Jim Myers see Tim.
50/50: Was won by Dave Noaker. $25 will be deposited to events and Dave donated his winnings of $25 which will be deposited to Adopt a Family.
New Business
Thanksgiving and Christmas Gift cards: The board approved an increase from $50 to $75 a card. A motion was made by Donna Smith and 2nd by Marty Van Horn to purchase 120 cards at a total of $9000 to be distributed to the VSC in Ashtabula, Summit, Stark, Portage, Tuscarawas, and Wayne County. Motion carried.
On Wednesday October 25th between 11:00am and 11:00 pm Applebee on Howe Ave will donate a portion of their sales to the National Federation of the Blind.
The VFW Club Spaghetti dinners will resume the second Friday of each month. The next dinner is October, 5-7pm. Cost is under $10.
Our next meeting is November 5th.
