President Bob Fankhauser called the February 4, 2024 meeting to order.
The minutes from the January 7, 2024 meeting read by Carolyn Clement. A motion was made by Dave Noaker and 2nd by JoAnn Suladie to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report was read by Nancy Beisler. A motion was made by Pam Murray and 2nd by Judi Willgues to accept the January report, subject to audit. Motion carried.
President Report: Bob informed us that we will be visiting Veterans every other Tuesday at 9:00 am at Rose Lane Nursing Home, located at 5425 High Mill Ave, Massillon, Oh 44646. The month of February we will visit on Tuesday, the 6th and Tuesday, the 20th.
Vice-President Report: Wes. We received a thank you card from Ashley & Colin Keener for the gift card for thanksgiving, a thank you letter from the Stark County VSC for helping make their 2023 Winter Wonderland a success with the donation of gift cards, and a thank you letter from Stark State College for the donation we made to our Scholarship Endowment. We also received a donation of $250 from JohnDow Industries.

Gun Bash: Kevin Ivey. Call or text Kevin Ivey with your order for tickets, which will be distributed at the March meeting.
Adopt a Family Project: Kolleen and Darlene.
Color Guard: Chris Duncan. Ladies and gentlemen, contact Chris if you are interested in joining the color guard. Practices will be held every Sunday at 4:00 pm. The color guard will be opening and closing at the Piston Powered Show, April 5th, 6th, and 7th.
Membership: Carolyn Liggett. 2024 dues of $40 are now due. You will be considered delinquent if not paid by the March meeting.
Scholarship Endowment: Janet White. Current balance is $91,550.00
Suicide Prevention & Military Families: Moe & Susan. Moe and Susan are working together to invite a member from SAVE22 and Cosmic Canine to a chapter meeting.
Wellness Committee: Kevin Ivey. Our thoughts and prayers for Donna Smith and Jim Sheets.
Quarter Master: Tim Hess.
50/50: won by Gerry Beisler, who donated his winnings of $34 to the Ron Mani account. The remaining $34 will be deposited to events.
NEW BUSINESS
A motion was made by Jim Jarrett and 2nd by Dave Noaker to donate, from the Suicide Prevention Fund, $500 to Guitars for Vets Therapy, VSC Summit County. Motion carried. The lessons are held on Thursdays from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Go to guitars4vets.org for more information.
A motion was made by Dave Noaker and 2nd by Paulette Pinczes to donate, from the Ron Mani account, $300 to Greater Ohio Area Super Kids. Motion carried.
On Thursday, February 8th at 10:00am a Chair of Honor will be installed at the SAM Center, located at 8101 Manchester RD, Canal Fulton. The dedication will be held at a later date.
At this years Gun Bash we will be donating a pistol to a Veteran. No raffle ticket purchase is required. A motion was made by Jesse Alvarez and 2nd by JoAnn Suladie to spend up to $700 to purchase the pistol. Motion carried. ID and proof of DD214 is required. Must be present to win. Members are not eligible.
VFW Club Spaghetti dinner 2nd Friday every month from 5:00pm to 7pm. Next dinner is February 9tth.
THE APRIL MEETING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE 14TH
Out next meeting is March 3rd at 1:00 pm.
