President Bob Fankhauser called the May 5, 2024 meeting to order.
The minutes from the Aoril 14, 2024 meeting were read by Carolyn Clement. A motion was made by Harold Murray and 2nd by Jesse Alvarez to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.
The treasurer’s report for the month of April, 2024 was read by Nancy Beisler. A motion was made by Dave Noaker and 2nd by Bob Legg to accept the report, subject to audit. Motion carried.

VFW Reverse Raffle will be held on May 18th at 7:00 pm. Get your tickets from the canteen.
Memorial Day Run: Leave VFW at 9:00 am. Must arrive at the National War Museum by 1:00 pm.
We will be visiting Veterans at Rose Lane Nursing Home on May 14th and May 28th at 9:00 am. Located at 5425 High Mill Ave, Massillon, OH.
Super Kids will be held on Saturday, June 1st. Be at Topside by 9:30 am in dress code.
Vice-President Report: Wes read a thank you letter from James Allen, Scholarship recipient. Also, we received a $25 donation from Sons of Italy which will be deposited to General Funds.

Gun Bash: Kevin reported to us that to date we have sold 262 Main tickets, 184 Blue tickets, 255 Green tickets, and 299 Yellow tickets.

Adopt a Family Project: Kolleen and Darlene.
Color Guard: Chris Duncan. Contact Chris if you know of any events where our color guard can represent our chapter.
Scholarship Endowment: Janet White reported to us that, so far, we have given out $9,100 in scholarships.
Suicide Prevention & Military Families: Moe & Susan.

Friday, May 10th will be the last VFW spaghetti dinner until September or October.
Friday, May 17th VFW Hamburger Supper from 5-7.
The 30th Annual MetroHealth Burn Center car show will be held on Sunday, May 19th at the Chevrolet Plant. Meet at Brrookpark Rd and Chevy Blvd between 11:00 am and 11:30 am. See website for more details.
A motion was made by Janet White and 2nd by Jesse Alvarez to donate $500 to Warrior2Warrior Ministry. Motion carried
Saturday, June 15th, Bike Run and Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser benefiting CASA of Portage County. Registration at 10:00 am at the Kent American Legion, located at 1945 Mogadore Rd, Kent. See website for more details.
The Ride for Pride benefiting the Keith Nepsa Scholarship will be held on August 31st Details to follow.
Our next Meeting will be held on June 2nd, Board meeting at 11:00 am and General Meeting at 1:00 pm.
There being no further business to come before the chapter, a motion was made by Pam Murray and 2nd by Donna Smith to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
