President Bob Fankhauser called the January 7, 2024 meeting to order.
The minutes from the December 3, 2023 meeting were approved as read by Carolyn Clement.
Treasurer’s report was read by Nancy Beisler. A motion was made by Janet White and 2nd by Judi Willgues to accept the December report, subject to audit. Motion carried.
President Report: Bob informed us that we will be visiting Veterans every other Tuesday at 9:00 am at Rose Lane Nursing Home, located at 5425 High Mill Ave, Massillon, Oh 44646. The month of January we will visit on Tuesday, the 9th and Tuesday, the 23rd.
A survey will be taken to determine if this year’s chapter Christmas party will be held at the VFW or in a restaurant.
Vice-President Report: Wes. We received a donation of $300 from David & Susan Homan and a donation of $250 from Joe Stepka. This money will be donated to our Stark State Scholarship. We received 3 beautiful Christmas cards and thank you’s from 3 Veterans who received one of our gift cards for Thanksgiving. We also received thank you cards from Margie (for the flag case) and the SAM Center (for the donation).

NEW BUSINESS
A motion was made by Paulette Pinczes and 2nd by Janet White to allocate up to $800 to purchase flags, flag stand, plaque and rope for the Chair of Honor to be installed at the SAM Center in Canal Fulton. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Janet White and 2nd by Jim Jarrett to advance Kevin Ivey $2000 in seed money in order to purchase guns for the 2024 Gun Bash. Motion carried.
VFW Club Spaghetti dinner 2nd Friday every month from 5:00pm to 7pm. Next dinner is January 12th.
THE APRIL MEETING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE 14TH
Out next meeting is February 4th. Board meeting at 11:00am and General meeting at 1:00pm.
