President Bob Fankhauser called the August 7, 2022 meeting to order.
The minutes from the July 10, 2022 meeting were approved as read by Carolyn Clement.
Treasurer’s report was read by Carolyn Clement. A motion was made by Dave Noaker and 2nd by Pat McPherson to accept the treasurers report, subject to audit. Motion carried.
President Report: Bob Fankhauser
A motion was made by Paulette Pinczes and 2nd by JoAnn Suladie that we donate, from the Suicide Prevention fund, $500 to the Military Family Center. Motion carried.
Vice-President Report: Jim Smith read a thank you from Emily Szerokman. As well as a letter from Claudia Casey. He also informed us that the new National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number is 988.
COB Report:
Guests: We welcomed guests Rick Bachman and David Dennison
Guest Speaker: Jack Dowler presented our chapter with a very generous donation of $3060.00 for the Suicide Prevention Fund. This money was from the sales of his book, Hero’s.
Patches: Congratulations to Michelle DiBell and Scott Hamilton for receiving their Boot Patch, and to Matthew Szerokman for receiving his Rocker and Eagle.

Wellness Committee: Kevin: Darlene has requested that if a member, member spouse or child is ill or has had surgery, etc., to let her know so she can send a card from the chapter.
Quarter Master: Tim Hess.
50/50: won by Chuck Lang. $30 will be deposited to events.
Elections (form committee at June meeting). Dave Noaker conducted our second and final round of nominations.
A unanimous ballot was cast for Wes Suladie for VP
A unanimous ballot was cast for Jerry Oppie for COB
A unanimous ballot was cast for Nancy Beisler for Treasurer.
Jack Dowler accepted nomination to Board of Directors.
Ongoing Business
New Business
A motion was made by Janet White and 2nd by Pat McPherson to advance Moe Pelkey $500 in seed money to secure the venue for the June 24, 2023 Vet Fest. Motion carried. The chapters anticipated cost should be around $2500.
Dates to remember:
- Saturday, August 27 VFW corn roast from noon to 6:00 pm
- There will be a short memorial for Bud Clement at OWRNC on Tuesday, August 30th at 6:00 pm. Meet at Section 14, Marker 2226.
- Saturday, September 10th ride to the Military Family Center
- Next meeting is September 11th CHAPTER ELECTIONS.
- Christmas Party after the November 6th meeting at the VFW
There being no further business to come before the chapter, a motion was made by Bud Roeder and 2nd by Janet White to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
